Who we are

The mission of Vision Culture Foundation (VCF) is to serve, empower and uplift our youth and community.

We are here to provide a safe space for our National City and Southbay San Diego neighborhoods through various art programming and events, mentorship and resources.

We recognize the power and impact of the creative arts and are committed to nurturing one’s goals and dreams.

We have the tools, skills and network to do good in this world.

We are the products of seeds sown by counter-cultures years ago and we are here to continue to provide for those who will come after.

THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT.

Our Cause

  • The Vision Culture Foundation was created because we believe the need to offer support to teens and young people is more important than ever.

  • Teen Suicide is the second leading cause of death among youth between 15-19 years old.

Between 2009-2021, major depression cases among teens between 16-18 years old rose by 69%.

Feelings of anxiety and hopelessness increased by 71% between 2009-2021 among young people between the ages of 16 and 25. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention -March 31, 2022)

  • This decline in mental health and these feelings of hopelessness among the youth has been called an epidemic. Despite those stats, we know the future looks bright.

VCF is committed to enriching the youth of National City and Southbay San Diego by providing free art and other programs as a way and means to begin the conversation and help connect young people to their healthy passions. Sometimes that’s all the support someone might need to achieve their full potential and live out their dreams. Serve, Empower, Uplift.

The Vision Culture Foundation provides a safe and judgement-free space of blended sub-cultures for the youth in SD to feel seen, heard and supported. Art saves lives. It can be all the difference someone needs to find the spark that inspires them to do great things. Young people aren’t the problem, they’re the solution.

Our Programs

  • MCS is a 6-week program that will teach students the history of street art and the importance of public art. Students will learn how to use the tools needed to produce murals, and the techniques used by seasoned street muralists to manifest such beauty and power. They will collaborate and learn from some of the most sought-after street artists in the world.

    MORE INFO

  • Open Book Sessions (OBS) is a community Arts and enrichment program for youth through teens aged between 12-19. It is designed as a jumping off point to accomplish a few goals. First, to connect the youth of our community to each other, and next we will use art to discover and explore the meaning and passion behind choosing what you do in this life.

    MORE INFO

  • The VCF Round Table Sessions (RTS) offers a safe space to connect with others and strengthen mental health supports.

    MORE INFO

  • HMS is dedicated to assisting these young movers-and-shakers in exercising their creativity and eagerness to contribute to society by taking them on a journey in conceiving and executing their own business concept. With so many different new business options out there possible, we chose a simple vehicle to help us convey our message. HMS will focus on helping the students in our program found their own clothing and apparel label. Whether they have aspirations to work in the field of fashion or not, this is a comprehensive and relatively simple way to prove to the youth that they are capable of anything. We aim to open up the door to thinking like a potential young entrepreneur.
