Commitment to Racial Justice and Equity

At Vision Culture Foundation (VCF), we stand firmly committed to the principles of racial justice and equity. Rooted in the vibrant communities of National City and Southbay San Diego, our mission is to serve, empower, and uplift our youth and community. We recognize the intersectionality, diverse identities, and needs of our people. Our initiatives are designed to challenge the ongoing oppressive systems, eliminate systemic barriers, and actively promote cross-cultural and cross-generational solidarity. We understand the transformative and healing power of the arts and are dedicated to harnessing this power to foster an inclusive, equitable environment.

We provide a safe space where all voices are heard and valued. Through our diverse art programming, events, mentorship, and resources, we encourage our community members to express themselves and pursue their goals without fear of discrimination or injustice. VCF functions from an anti-racist and anti-oppressive framework. We believe in the power of collective work and advocacy.

As beneficiaries of the groundbreaking efforts of past counter-cultures, we carry forward the legacy of activism and community service. We recognize that it is our duty to continue to build on the social justice organizing work of those who came before us, and is essential in order for future generations to exist and thrive. Therefore, we are committed to activating and cultivating a community that is no longer marginalized and has equal access to opportunities and power in order for all to have healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives.

Together, with the tools, skills, and network at our disposal, we are poised to make a significant impact. We invite our community members to join us in this vital work, to continue sowing seeds of change, and to help us build a future towards genuine justice and liberation for all.
